Rogue One’s Spinoff Disney Plus Star Wars Series’ Title Reportedly Revealed
We haven’t really heard all that much about this upcoming Disney Plus Star Wars series.
It was revealed a while back that Lucasfilm was working on a series involving Rogue One’s Cassian Andor.
The character was first introduced in Rogue One and was played by Diego Luna.
He was brilliant in the movie, and I was really looking forward to this Cassian Andor Star Wars series.
However, we haven’t heard much about it since.
I was thinking that Lucasfilm might have been forced to can the idea.
That said, we’re now getting news from Bespin Bulletin that Disney is still working on it.
They also revealed that the new series will be called Star Wars: Andor.
Rogue One’s spinoff Disney Plus series might be called Star Wars: Andor
They are claiming that the new series will also start shooting on November 4th.
That really seems early to me, especially since we’re in the midst of a global pandemic.
That said, I would really love to see Lucasfilm get a move on with this series.
Diego Luna is a terrific actor and Cassina Andor is a really fascinating character.
He’s someone who’s been fighting the war against the Empire on the ground and is often forced to play dirty.
He’s a bit like a cross between Han Solo and Luke Skywalker.
Cassian is both noble, like Luke, but also a bit of a scoundrel, like Han.
The series was written by Tony Gilroy who was also going to direct, but he ended up exciting the project due to COVID-19.
Todd Haynes will now take the reins for at least the first three episodes, with The Americans veteran Stephen Schiff set as showrunner and Alan Tudyk also back to reprise his Rogue One role as droid K-2SO.
What do you make of this new rumour?
