Matthew McConaughey Reveals He Wanted To Play The Hulk – Marvel Said No

Matthew McConaughey revealed recently on an episode of Happy Sad Confused that he really wanted to play The Hulk, but Marvel said no.

This is one of the most interesting stories as far as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is concerned.

Matthew McConaughey is a truly great actor.

He showed that in the likes of Dallas Buyers Club for which he won an Oscar.

However, there was a point in his career when people thought he was a bit of a joke.

Yet, he then redeemed his career with some brilliant performances is wonderful movies.

There was a point in his career when he tried to get the role of the Hulk in the MCU.

Unfortunately for him, Marvel Studios turned the actor down for the role.

However, during the interview, McConaughey didn’t reveal which project he was actually turned down for.

We can guess that it was a live-action movie, which means that it would have either been before Edward Norton or after him.

That said, there was Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk movie which starred Eric Bana as the title hero.

Edward Norton took on the role of the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk.

He was then replaced by Mark Ruffalo in The Avengers.
