There’s a petition online that’s demanding that Johnny Depp be brought back as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates Of The Caribbean and it’s now reaching 250K signatures. You can check out the petition over on Change.org.
This petition was started by Riza Siddiqui and it has now reached 248,732 signatures (as of writing this article). That’s a huge number of signatures, and it really does seem as though people are desperate to see Johnny Depp return to the franchise as Jack Sparrow.
It shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise. Johnny Depp is the reason why the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were so successful. People went to watch those films because of him. His performance as Captain Jack Sparrow is cinematic history.

So, yeah. The petition is doing well. So well, in fact, that Disney will probably have to address it pretty soon. This comes after it was rumoured that Jerry Bruckheimer was keen on bringing Depp back to the franchise.
Here’s what Siddiqui wrote in her petition to have Depp be brought back to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies:
Johnny Depp has been out recently as Captain Jack Sparrow. One of the reasons is his personal issues as well.
He has been playing this role since 2003 when we first saw him arriving at the Port Royal in his boat with that epic background music playing.
But can you imagine someone else portraying this instead of him? Or no Jack Sparrow at all?
Disney is rebooting Dead Men Tell No Tales because of its box office but don’t they know that without Johnny Depp or Jack Sparrow they will sink, they will never be able to reach that horizon they are looking for.
Even if it means nothing to you but please, sign this petition for the ones who REALLY want Johnny Depp as their Captain of the Black Pearl!
They have to bring him back to rule the seas again or we will never watch any Pirates of the Caribbean movie without our Captain.
