Jared Leto Rumoured To Play The Lead Role In A New Tron Trilogy

It’s being rumoured that Jared Leto is up for playing the lead in a new Tron trilogy which could be coming to Disney Plus. This rumour comes to us from We Got This Covered, so may want to take it with a pinch of salt.

According to WGTC’s sources, Jared Leto is currently in talks with Disney to star as the lead of this rumoured new Tron trilogy. It’s been reported that this has been in the works over at Disney for quite some time now.

However, there have been no official announcements made about a future Tron movie by Disney themselves. That said, it’s been well-documented that Disney has been looking for a director to helm the new Tron movie. According to Deadline, Disney’s top choice to direct the movie is Garth Davis.

We’re now hearing that they really want Jared Leto to sign a contract to have him star in a trilogy, which seems to indicate that they are very confident in the franchise.

As for a Tron trilogy, this to me does sound like Disney is really keen on getting yet another franchise out there. However, they might have to start thinking of alternative ways of releasing these sorts of tentpole movies.

They might have to end up releasing more and more movies on Disney Plus, which may be the way Disney will start releasing their movies in the future. This could end up happening sooner rather than later thanks to the global pandemic which is very quickly causing all cinemas to close down.
