Jared Leto has come out and said that his upcoming Morbius movie is going to be a part of an expanding cinematic universe. He said this at the beginning of a new trailer for Morbius.

This trailer was from Sony Pictures’ Japan YouTube account and it’s pretty much what we saw from the first trailer, just with an introduction by Morbius himself, Jared Leto. His introduction was shot in his own home, which looks very, very nice.

Morbius was intended to be released in cinemas in 2020. However, Sony Pictures ended up pushing it back due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which is fair enough. They pushed all their movies into 2021, including Venom: Let Their Be Carnage.

Here’s what Jared Leto said at the beginning of this trailer for his upcoming Morbius movie:

Here’s what Jared Leto had to say about his upcoming Morbius movie being part of an expanding universe:

In the film, I play a new Marvel character that attempts to cure his lifelong blood design with experimental science. In the process, I turn into a living vampire. That’s a little bit about what’s going on, and I think it’s going to be a fun one and I can’t wait for you guys to see it. It’s an exciting role in an expanding universe, there’s a lot for us to look forward to.
