Can the Knives Out sequel (Knives Out 2) top the first film? Absolutely, according to star Dave Bautista.

Directed by Rian Johnson, the first film was a phenomenal success among fans and critics, scoring Johnson an Oscar nomination.

Back in April, it was announced that Netflix had purchased the rights to two more sequels for $400million.

Speaking about the new film, Bautista was very enthusiastic in his praise:

I really think it’s going to be as good, if not better, than the first one. I’m always afraid to say that because I don’t want anybody to get offended saying that we’re going to be better, but I really do think this. I think the characters are just so much more colourful.

Speaking glowingly about his fellow cast mates, Bautista enthused:

I was working with a couple of my castmates and was mesmerized by their performances and just how well they’ve adapted into these characters.

The sequel’s cast certainly is a match for the star power of the first film.

Confirmed cast members include Bautista, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline and Edward Norton.

Meanwhile of course, Daniel Craig is returning as super sleuth Benoit Blanc.

The sequel will once again be written and directed by Rian Johnson, and will arrive on Netflix.

Fingers crossed we get some more hilarious doughnut analogies!
