It’s being reported that Agents Of SHIELD star, Chloe Bennet is now in the running to play Doctor Aphra in an upcoming Star Wars show.

This report comes to us from Giant Freakin Robot, and Bennet’s is a name that’s been rumoured to be involved in the project for a while now.

Her star is really starting to rise ever since she was cast in the Marvel TV show.

She’s currently filming the live-action Powerpuff Girls TV show for The CW.

According to GFR, she’s one of the name’s being considered for the role of Doctor Aphra.

We reported a while ago that the Doctor Aphra series is in development over at Lucasfilm.

We also added that Doctor Aphra wasn’t the show that Leslye Headland was developing for Lucasfilm.

The Disney Investor’s Day presentation revealed that to be true, and Kathleen Kennedy unveiled The Acolyte, which is the series Headland’s been hard at work making

If you don’t know who Doctor Aphra is, then you obviously haven’t been paying close attention to the Marvel Star Wars comics.

She is basically a female version of Han Solo, only with more brains and a slightly nasty streak to her.

In the comics, she ends up having to work for Darth Vader, and she ends up being one of the very few people who manages to get away from his clutches with her life.

She’s a truly brilliant character and would be the perfect addition to the Star Wars live-action shows.

I also think that Bennet would be an interesting choice for the character.

She would definitely look the part, and obviously, people at Lucasfilm think so as well.

Now, has she been cast in the role yet? I don’t think so.

They’re still in the early development phase of this project and I doubt they have cast anybody yet.

However, I’m pretty sure they will be finalizing casting for this show pretty soon.
