It’s been revealed that Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 has been put on hold until the team behind the show feels “morally okay” with the series.
I have to admit that it was going to be difficult to bring a show like Brooklyn Nine-Nine back following the Black Lives Matter protests.
The issue isn’t really with the show and its content, but it has more to do with the fact that it’s about a police prescint in New York.
It’s a tough subject to tackle at the moment given the death of George Floyd, all the videos of police brutality and the issue of systemic racism within the US police force.
That said, this isn’t an issue which only affects the United States.
The UK has a lot of issues with racism in the police and it all needs to be sorted as soon as possible.
Anyway, with all this going on at the moment, it’s been revealed that Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 is going to be put on hold until the team behind the show feel “morally okay” about it.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 has been put on hold
This was revealed by Andy Samberg during a recent interview with People.
Here’s what he told the publication about future episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine:
We’re taking a step back, and the writers are all rethinking how we’re going to move forward, as well as the cast. We’re all in touch and kind of discussing how you make a comedy show about police right now, and if we can find a way of doing that that we all feel morally okay about. I know that we’ll figure it out, but it’s definitely a challenge, so we’ll see how it goes.
What do you make of this news?
Are you looking forward to seeing Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 return?
