Bond Director Insists Rami Malek Isn’t Playing Dr. No

No Time To Die’s director, Cary Joji Fukunaga has claimed yet again that Rami Malek isn’t playing Dr. No in the upcoming James Bond movie.

He revealed this in a recent interview with SFX Magazine in which he insisted that his is a new villain.

Many people have been speculating that Malek might be playing Dr. No in the upcoming movie.

I mean, he certainly looks the part.

Malek even suggested that the possibility of being Dr. No in the movie was an “exciting thing”.

However, it seems as though Safin – Malek’s character in the movie – will not be Dr. No after all.

At least, that’s what they want us to believe.

Here’s what Fukanaga had to say on the matter:

Everyone thinks it’s so easy to make these tentpole films, that it’s just formulaic and you just plug-and-play and people are going to show up for the cinema. Actually, if you want a good film you have to take it seriously and put a lot of thought into it. It takes a lot of smart people to create these films, and also to create these characters that will hopefully last. This is a new villain. He’s not, as some have speculated, Dr. No. Hopefully, he’ll be one that is lasting in some way.
