A Rebooted Power Rangers Cinematic Universe Coming With New Movies And TV Shows

It’s been revealed that a new Power Rangers Cinematic and Television Universe is coming our way with new movies and TV shows.

According to Collider, Jonathan Entwistle (famous for being the person behind I Am Not Okay With This and The End of the F***ing World) will be the one in charge of this new Power Rangers franchise reboot initiative.

He’ll be in charge of a whole bunch of new movies and TV shows involving the Hasbro property.

Back in 2017, we got a new Power Rangers movie which starred the likes of Dacre Montgomery and Naomi Scott.

However, this new Power Rangers Cinematic Universe will be something new.

It’s still unclear whether these new movies and TV shows will be attached to the 2017 movie or not.

The news came from Entertainment One (eOne) themselves.

They revealed that they have hired Entwistle to work on these new movies and TV show adaptations of the Power Rangers world and characters.

He’ll also direct all the movies and TV shows, which sounds like a lot of work if you ask me.

Entertainment One Film President Nick Meyer and President of Global Programming Michael Lombardo said in a shared statement:

Jonathan has an incredible creative vision for this iconic and hugely successful franchise and is hands down the right architect to join us as we reimagine the television and film worlds of this property. Across our slate, we are looking forward to working with the most talented storytellers as we take on Hasbro’s rich fan-favourite brands and build entertainment universes around them.

Entwistle then said in a separate statement:

This is an unbelievable opportunity to deliver new Power Rangers to both new and existing generations of awaiting and adoring fans. We’ll bring the spirit of analogue into the future, harnessing the action and storytelling that made this brand a success. I’m looking forward to working with the teams at eOne and Hasbro. Together, we can’t wait to share more Power Rangers with the world very soon.

It was revealed back in December 2019 that Entwistle had signed on to direct just one Power Rangers movie.

It was also revealed that Peter Rabbit 2 writer Patrick Burleigh was working on the film’s script.

This script saw the Power Rangers travel back through time to the 1990s.

They then have to try to return to their own time.

We do not know whether they’ll be using this script or not.
