The Nothing Phone 2 is set to offer a minor visual update over its predecessor, featuring a slightly curved back and re-organised LED strips for the Glyph Interface. The phone will be available in two colours – white and grey. The updated Glyph Interface now features 11 segmented LED strips with 33 lighting zones compared to 5 LED strips and 12 zones on the Nothing Phone 1, adding new use cases and more granular control.

Nothing has introduced the new Glyph Composer along with a first-of-its-kind creative collaboration. GRAMMY Award-nominated electronic music titans and global supergroup Swedish House Mafia and London-based consumer tech brand Nothing have partnered to launch personalised visual ringtones with an exclusive sound pack, giving a first taste to upcoming new music.

The new Glyph Composer will allow Phone 2 and Phone 1 users to compose their own Glyph Ringtone, a sequence of sounds and corresponding lights on the back of Nothing’s smartphones. Once users find their rhythm, they can hit the record button and produce their very own Glyph Ringtone using the Glyph Sound Pack by Swedish House Mafia.  Or users can use the pre-set Glyph Ringtone mixed by Swedish House Mafia.

“We’re excited to have collaborated with the Nothing team in London to launch a smartphone innovation that brings the worlds of music and tech ever closer. All three of us have been fans of Carl Pei and Nothing’s vision since the beginning, and we are proud to be the first creatives to unleash a Glyph Composer sound pack into the wild. We can’t wait to see and hear what our fans and Nothing users’ remix. ” said Swedish House Mafia members Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.

“We’re honoured to be working with house music trailblazers Swedish House Mafia to unveil both Glyph Composer and our first Glyph Sound Pack.” said Carl Pei, CEO and Co-founder of Nothing, “Axwell, Steve and Sebastian have been early champions of Nothing, so it felt like a natural fit to innovate with them on a product that creators worldwide can engage with. We can’t wait to see what the Nothing community produces using this platform.”

The phone also features symmetrical bezels and a centred punch hole cutout for the selfie cam. The top and sides of the back now curve into the frame, which is another difference compared to the first Nothing Phone.
