It was revealed at last night’s Disney Investor’s Day presentation that there’s a new Star Wars series coming called The Acolyte. This news was revealed by Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy, and it sounds like this will be a show that all Star Wars fans will want to watch.

It was also revealed that this show is the one that’s being made by Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland. During the presentation, Kennedy revealed the logo for this upcoming Star Wars show which is coming to Disney Plus.

She also gave us a little information about when the show will be set in the Star Wars timeline. Kennedy revealed that this upcoming Star Wars series, called The Acolyte, will be set during the final days of the High Republic era. This will be the first time Lucasfilm has ever made a TV show or movie set during this time period, and that’s pretty exciting.

Here’s what Kathleen Kennedy had to say about Leslye Headland’s upcoming Star Wars series, The Acolyte during the Disney Investor’s Day presentation:

The Acolyte is a mystery thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

This, honestly, sounds like it’s going to be one of the most intriguing Star Wars properties ever made under the Disney banner. I’ve personally liked the stuff that Kennedy’s managed to get made since becoming President at Lucasfilm. However, I think this show might be the best thing to come during her time at the helm.
