It was revealed that Jodie Whittaker is going to be leaving Doctor Who after three seasons, and now people are wondering who will replace her. There have been a bunch of names in the mix. The likes of Kris Marshall, Michaela Coel and Richard Ayoade have been mentioned.
I’ve read reports that Daniel Kaluuya and Himesh Patel are also in contention for the role. However, there’s a new name in the ring, and that name is Michael Sheen who’s been climbing in the bookies’ ranks and now to be a frontrunner for the role.
Could Michael Sheen be the next Doctor in Doctor Who?
So, Michael Sheen is the new name that has emerged pretty slowly as one of the frontrunners to become the next Time Lord. According to Ladbrokes, his odds of replacing Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor in Doctor Who have been slashed from 20/1 to just 12/1 in the last few days.
Sheen is now the fourth favourite to be cast in the role, behind Kris, Michaela and Richard. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Michael Sheen might just be the perfect replacement for Jodie Whittaker and plenty of punters reckon he may well get the nod.”
