Batgirl Director Says The Movie Will Start Shooting Soon

Batgirl co-director Adil El Arbi has teased that the film will soon begin production.

As reported by Comic Book, a recent post on El Arbi’s Instagram Stories hinted that the cameras may soon begin to roll.

The post appears to have been taken at an early production meeting of some kind.

The photo is accompanied by the caption “Getting closer to shoot #Batgirl.”

Leslie Grace is set to take on the titular role of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

She recently posted a video on Instagram that shows her in physical training for the role.

J.K. Simmons will once again reprise his role as Batgirl’s father Commissioner Gordon.

Brendan Fraser will play the villain, believed to be Firefly.

Rising star Jacob Scipion has been cast in an unnamed role.

Birds of Prey and The Flash screenwriter Christina Hodson will pen the screenplay.

Adil El Arbi will co-direct with regular directing partner Bilall Fallah.
