Patty Jenkins Told Chris Pine The Plot Of Rogue Squadron

Last month during the Disney Investor Call (which was a lot like a comic con presentation) Kathleen Kennedy revealed Patty Jenkins would be making a Star Wars film called Rogue Squadron. And it looks like Chris Pine has the inside scoop.

Little was revealed about the film, except that it will be released Christmas 2023. In an interview with IGN, Patty Jenkins said that Rogue Squadron would not be an adaptation of the novel or video game series, but an entirely new and original story.

Here’s what Jenkins had to say about Rogue Squadron:

We’re doing something original with great influence from the games and the books. There’s a lot of things being acknowledged and understood about the greatness of all of those things, but yes, it’s an original story and I’m so psyched to do it

We recently reported on the rumour that Patty Jenkins wants Chris Pine and Gal Gadot to star in her Star Wars film, Rogue Squadron. And now in a recent interview with Collider, Chris Pine revealed Patty Jenkins has told him the plot of Rogue Squadron.

Here’s what he had to say:

I had spoken to her about, not my involvement, but the story. She talked to me about it, it sounds really, really great. But I’m ecstatic for her, excited for what she’s about to embark on. If there’s anyone that can reimagine and breathe fresh, new life into it, it’s her.

It looks like Patty Jenkins won’t be starting Wonder Woman 3 anytime soon, as she will be furiously writing Rogue Squadron for Disney. However, the fact that she already has the plot mapped out bodes well.
