Mortal Kombat’s First Trailer Has Landed And It’s Goretastic

Mortal-Kombat-Trailer

The very first trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie has landed and it’s full of gore and brilliant. You can check the trailer out for yourselves below.

The film will include famous Mortal Kombat characters such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Mileena, and Raiden. The trailer I’ve put below is the R-rated version, so you have to be over 18 to watch it.

It really does look like this movie is going to be full of gore, which is how it should be. The trailer also gives us a little taste of the movie, and it sounds like it’ll be a lot like the Mortal Kombat video games.

The movie’s main protagonist will be a new and original character named Cole Young, played by Lewis Tan. He’s an MMA fighter who is being hunted down by Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung and his best warrior, Sub-Zero.

Here’s the film’s plot synopsis:

Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with,” the official synopsis reads. “Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana — the immense power from within his soul — in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat is being directed by Simon McQuoid. The film’s main producers are Todd Garner and James Wan. The film was written by Greg Russo, Oren Uziel, and Dave Callaham.
