Lord Of The Rings Anime Prequel Movie Announced

It’s been revealed that Warner Bros. Pictures is working on a Lord Of The Rings prequel animated movie which will be called The War Of The Rohirrim.

This news came to us Deadline and it’s actually pretty darn exciting.

It seems as though Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will not be involved in this animated prequel movie.

However, Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings: Return of the King scribe Philippa Boyens will be a consultant on the new project.

This animated prequel movie will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama.

There’s no news yet on who will be lending their voices to this project, but casting is currently underway.

The War of the Rohirrim will focus on a character from one of The Lord Of The Rings’ appendix.

The character in question is the mighty King of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand.

The film will feature a legendary battle that helped shaped Middle-earth before The Lords Of The Rings.

The anime pic will tell the untold story behind the fortress of Helm’s Deep, delving into the life and blood soaked times of Hammerhand.

It seems as though this animated sequel movie will tie into New Line’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

It’s said to be set roughly 250 years before that movie during the third age.
