OK, so this one might be a bit out there, but there are rumours that Chris Hemsworth might be up for the role of Green Lantern in Warner Bros’ DC cinematic universe.
If this casting does happen, it wouldn’t be the first time an actor has switched from Marvel to DC Comics, but it would be a rather strange choice if you ask me.
Ben Affleck, who played Daredevil before being cast as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the only actor I can think of who did it that way round.
Most of the time you tend to see actors going to DC Comics movies to Marvel movies. Take the likes of Halle Berry, Josh Brolin and Ryan Reynolds.
All three actors were in DC Comics movies first and then moved over to Marvel later on.
This news that Chris Hemsworth is being eyed for the role of Green Lantern in the DCEU comes courtesy of We Got This Covered, so maybe don’t take this ‘casting’ news as Gospel.
Is Chris Hemsworth really going to be cast as Green Lantern in the DCEU?

However, they do claim that their sources told them Warner Bros. executives are very interested in getting Hemsworth over to the DCEU and that Green Lantern could be debuted in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie.
In all honesty, I think audiences might struggle to see Hemsworth as Green Lantern due to his incredible performances as Thor.
It would just be too strange to see him play another well-known comic book superhero so soon after having played Thor.
There’s also the fact that there’s another Thor movie coming out relatively soon, Thor: Love And Thunder, and I just feel it would be too close to have him star in both the DCEU and MCU.
That said, I do think he would excellent casting, but I have a feeling they might have to look for someone else.
It’s also been revealed that there will be a Green Lantern live-action series on HBO Max, so would Hemsworth play the character there as well? It all sounds a bit too outlandish to be true.
