It has been quite the battle for Sony to get this adaptation of Uncharted to the big screen.

Nathan Fillion, Chris Pratt and Mark Wahlberg have all reportedly been previously considered for the role of Nathan Drake.

It was confirmed in 2017 that Tom Holland would star as Nathan Drake.

Furthermore, the film has seen numerous directors attached at one point in time.

Neil Burger, Travis Knight, Dan Trachtenberg have all come and gone, and it seemed as though the film would remain stuck in development hell.

Yet in February 2020, it was finally confirmed that Ruben Flesicher will direct.

Mark Wahlberg will play Victor “Sully” Sullivan, while Sophia Taylor Ali will play Chloe Frazer, Nathan’s love interest.

Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas round out the rest of the film’s principal cast.

Given that the first footage has been unveiled, hopefully a trailer will soon be released.

The film is slated for a February 18th 2022 release date.
