Ezra Miller made a striking appearance on the red carpet at Ovation Hollywood, sporting a bun and donning a crisp white jacket paired with black slacks. This marked Miller’s first Hollywood appearance since his involvement in legal issues including alleged assaults in Hawaii and unlawful trespassing at a neighbour’s house in Vermont.
Before the screening, Miller took the opportunity to express his gratitude to a multitude of individuals. These included director Andy Muschietti, Zach Snyder, and Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav. Miller also acknowledged “the dynamic duo” Peter Safran and James Gunn, thanking them for their “grace, discernment and care” both in his personal life and in bringing The Flash to fruition.
The Star-Studded Event
The Flash premiere was not short of Hollywood’s shining stars. Alongside Ezra Miller, other prominent figures graced the red carpet. These included Sasha Calle, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Maribel Verdú, and Jessica Chastain, among others. Miller was joined on the red carpet by Ben Affleck, who reprised his role as Batman in the film, as well as director Andy Muschietti, Kirsey Clemons, and Barbara Muschietti. Notably, Affleck was accompanied by his wife, Jennifer Lopez.
There was a particularly sweet moment when producer Barbara Muschietti shared a moment with Sasha Calle, who plays Supergirl in the film.
Ezra Miller’s Journey
Last August, Miller opened up about “suffering complex mental health issues” and beginning “ongoing treatment”. Reportedly, he had a sit-down with Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Bosses Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca, in an effort to make amends[9†source]. This situation has left Warner Bros. in a difficult position, causing them to largely keep the star out of the press tour for The Flash, which is set to open on Friday.
Expectations for The Flash
The DC spinoff has been touted by newly installed DC Studios co-chief James Gunn as “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made”. Despite this high praise, the film is only expected to open to $75M this weekend. For comparison, Justice League, which also starred Miller as Barry Allen, The Flash, opened to $93.8M stateside. However, this was not deemed a success for that $300M production. Fans and critics alike are eagerly waiting to see if the positive word of mouth and the 72% fresh Rotten Tomatoes critics score will propel The Flash any higher.
The premiere of The Flash marked a significant moment for Ezra Miller, as he made his red carpet return in Hollywood. It was an evening of gratitude, glamorous appearances, and anticipation for the film’s public release. With high expectations set, it remains to be seen how the film will perform at the box office and whether it will meet, if not exceed, the standards of its predecessors. Regardless, Miller’s return to the spotlight at the premiere of The Flash has undoubtedly caught the attention of fans and critics alike, making it a night to remember.
