It’s been revealed by Extraction’s director, Sam Hargrave, that the sequel (Extraction 2) will start shooting later this year and will be action-packed. He revealed this during a recent interview with Collider.
I ended up putting Extraction in my top five films of 2020. I really loved the movie and was really happy when I found out that Netflix was making a sequel. It sounds as though Chris Hemsworth will be returning to play the lead role, Tyler Rake.
It’s now been revealed that Sam Hargrave is going to start work on the sequel later this year, and he also added that the film will be action-packed. I really like the sound of that!

Here’s what Sam Hargrave had to say about Extraction 2:
So, as far as my personal involvement, I would like to be as involved as possible but I also don’t want to be greedy. There’s a lot of other super talented filmmakers out there who would have very unique visions and would bring something new and fresh to the franchise that I would be excited to see as a fan. Hopefully, we get to do the second one with all the same team and really establish the franchise, if you will. But from there I would love to see, as a fan of cinema, other young directors who, again, can push the level of action.
