It’s now being rumoured that the upcoming Lando Star Wars series on Disney Plus will jump between timelines. This rumour comes to us from Geekosity’s Mikey Sutton, and as I always say, you should take notice of what he has to say on these things.
Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the show was coming during her segment of the Disney Investor’s Day presentation. In her announcement, Kennedy stated: “Lando Calrissian is the galaxy’s smoothest, most notorious scoundrel. And he will return in a brand new event series for Disney Plus.”
“Justin Simein, the creator of the critically acclaimed and hugely popular Dear White People is developing the story with us now. A massive Star Wars fan himself, Justin has put together a reel to give you a sense of the style, tone, and irresistible swagger of our upcoming series, Lando,” she added.
It’s now being rumoured that both Donald Glover and Billy Dee Williams will be playing Lando in the show, and therefore, this show will be jumping between the past and the present. This sounds like a pretty nifty idea and I’m looking forward to seeing how they pull it off.

Here’s what Mikey Sutton had to say about the Lando Calrissian Star Wars TV show on Disney Plus:
The Lando program will apparently open in the present time, shortly after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. The show will move forward back and forth between interconnected stories, with the contemporary Lando and his daughter Jannah (Naomi Ackie), who was introduced in Rise. Those segments will cut to the past with Glover and possibly Luke Skywalker, and Sebastian Stan is being courted to play him.
