2008’s Cloverfield movie was pretty brilliant. It was a film that really shocked audiences and showed what you could do with the monster movie genre, as well as the hand-held movie genre.

It then spawned two sequels, which were linked to the first Cloverfield film, but can’t be considered to be ‘direct sequels’ to the 2008 movie. It’s been revealed that Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot is making a direct sequel to the 2008 Cloverfield movie.

The first Cloverfield film was directed by Matt Reeves. He then went on to direct the last two Planet of the Apes films. He’s now hard at work on The Batman, which stars Robert Pattinson has Batman.

We then had 10 Cloverfield Lane, which was frankly put, brilliant. That film was directed by Dan Trachtenberg and it was his first feature-length movie. It was recently revealed that he was going to be directing the next Predator movie, which is very exciting.

Most recently, we have The Cloverfield Paradox, which really wasn’t very good. We’re now getting a direct sequel to the original movie, and J.J. Abrams will be producing the film. It’s not been revealed who will be directing the picture.
