Aquaman 2 Rumoured To Feature Another Female Lead Aside From Amber Heard’s Mera

It’s now being rumoured that Aquaman 2 is going to feature another female lead and people think it’s to take the heat off of Amber Heard as Mera. This rumour comes to us from Grace Randolph, who seems to be in the know as far as this stuff’s concerned.

There have been all sorts of rumours around what’s going to happen with Amber Heard in the upcoming Aquaman 2. There have been many people calling for her to be fired from the movie.

There’s a petition online which calls for Heard to be fired from the movie, and it’s now reaching 2 million signatures, which is just insane! Anyway, it’s now being rumoured that Aquaman 2’s director, James Wan is looking to cast a female lead in Aquaman 2 and he wants her to be played by an Asian actress.

Here’s what Grace Randolph wrote about there being a new female lead in the upcoming Aquaman 2, which is rumoured to be in order to take some heat off of Amber Heard:

Some holiday tea. #JodieComer has met w/ both #Marvel & #DC for roles (#Aquaman2 & #Flashpoint) off #FreeGuy buzz. But #JamesWan wants new Aquaman female lead to be Asian actress. Also #JJAbrams meeting w/ writers re #Superman, but no word if keeping #HenryCavill just yet

This does sound pretty interesting to me. However, it does sound as if Warner Bros. Pictures is still very much behind Heard and I do not think they’ll be firing her. Perhaps having another female lead might be the best compromise they’ve come up with?
