Matt Smith Game Of Thrones House Of Dragons Doctor Who

It’s being rumoured that Matt Smith is up for a role in the upcoming Game Of Thrones spinoff series, House Of Dragons. This rumour comes from The Illuminerdi who’s scoops are often correct.

The Illuminerdi is reporting that Matt Smith is up for a lead role in the House Of Dragons series. The role in question is for a character called Prince Daemon Targaryen, and he will be a series regular.

They say that Smith has “Received considerable interest for the role of Daemon in House of the Dragon, but to our knowledge no formal offer has been made.” So, as it stands, it seems as though HBO is interested in casting Smith. However, no offer has been made yet.

But who is this Prince Daemon Targaryen and why would Matt Smith be so interested in the role? Here’s a character description which was included in The Illuminerdi’s report:

The younger brother to King Viserys, Daemon wasn’t born with “naked ambition” for the throne despite being in line for it. He’s less methodical and more impetuous. Not to mention easily bored…stumbling from one distraction to the next with the subconscious yet singular obsession with earning the love and acceptance of his brother the king. Most of Daemon’s joy is found at sword-point. But even as the most experienced warrior of his time, he vacillates between vile and heroic, making him the true rogue of the series.
