Marvel’s upcoming series on Disney Plus, Moon Knight, added another cast member to it’s roster. Deadline is reporting Ramy star May Calamawy has joined the show.

Starring Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector, aka Moon Knight, the character is a vigilante/mercenary with many alter egos he develops to fight crime. Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, the characters first appearance was in the comic Werewolf by Night #32 (August 1975). Moon Knight actually started out as a villain in the books before becoming a (mostly) hero.

He was a former CIA agent when his life was saved by Khonshu, a moon goddess.

As we reported last October, Marvel hired Mohamed Diab (Clash) to direct the Moon Knight Series. Diab also wrote the blockbuster Egyptian franchise El Gezeira (The Island in English), which are among the highest-grossing Egyptian and Arabic films of all time.
