The never-ending rumours linking Emily Blunt to a role in a superhero film continue to swirl.

Despite seemingly closing the door on ever appearing in a superhero film, the actress may appear in one after all.

While speaking with Collider to promote her upcoming film Jungle Cruise, Blunt mentioned what would need to be in place for her to appear in a comic book film.

The actress has on several occasions nearly joined the MCU, having been considered for the roles of Black Widow and Captain Marvel.

While speaking alongside her Jungle Cruise co-star Dwayne Johnson, Blunt talked about why she hasn’t yet appeared in a superhero film:

It’s always about story, and [playing] a character I haven’t done. It’s not something I’ve felt the inclination to do before, but it’s not something I turn my nose up at — at all.

She went on to say that she could be tempted to sign on to a superhero film:

 If the script was right.

While Blunt has been continuously linked to the role of Sue Storm, similar speculation continues to link her husband John Krasinksi to the role of Reed Richards.

Therefore, it seems that the ball is in Marvel’s (or DC’s) court to turn those fan casting rumours into reality.

Fingers crossed.
