Who’s going to be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig? That’s the question that many people would love to have answered and it seems as though Tom Hardy is leading the pack.
There are so many actors on that list, however, it seems as though Tom Hardy is now the bookies’ favourite to play the British Secret Agent next.
Daniel Craig has played the role for quite some time now.
His first Bond movie was Casino Royale, and he then went on to star in Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
No Time To Die will be his last James Bond movie.
So, who’s going to take on the mantle next?
Craig’s boots will not be easy to fill, however, bookies think that Tom Hardy will be able to, and will be asked to.
According to Bookmaker William Hill, Hardy is the 5/2 favourite to assume the role.
Could Tom Hardy be the next James Bond?
Bridgerton’s sexy Duke Rege-Jean Page has long been the internet’s choice to land the role amid news that he will star alongside Bond girl Ana de Armas in The Gray Man.
This, as well as the news that Page will feature in Dungeons and Dragons alongside Chris Pine and Hugh Grant, show demand is high for the leading man’s services.
Page is joint second favourite at 3-1, alongside James Norton, whose Hollywood credentials have continued to grow.
From Grantchester to Happy Valley, his CV is strong, and the 36-year-old Brit really raised the stakes with his turn as Alex Goodman in crime drama McMafia.
Then there’s my favourite choice for the role, Welsh actor and Disney star Luke Evans, who has made no bones about his willingness to take up the coveted role.
He’s currently at 6-1 to be named the next Bond.
Completing the top five is London-born Luther star Idris Elba, along with Superman Henry Cavill.
Cavill actually auditioned for Casino Royale and came very close to being cast.
It was actually between him and Craig and Craig ended up getting the gig.
Cavill and Elba are both available at 8-1.
Then we have Outlander star Sam Hueghan.
What about Richard Madden? Could he be the next James Bond?
He’s been many favourite to be named the next 007.
British GQ even revealed that Hueghan was their favourite for the role.
He’s currently a 12-1 shot for the gig.
Loki’s Tom Hiddleston joins Hueghan on 12-1 and did play an MI5 officer in the BBC series, The Night Manager.
Then we have Peaky Blinders star Cilian Murphy at 28-1 is often linked to the role.
Finally, Game of Thrones and Bodyguard actor Richard Madden is also in the mix.
There have been some reports that he’s already caught the eye of executive producer Barbara Broccoli.
Meanwhile, Lashana Lynch could become the first female to front the franchise
We also have Henry Golding who could become the first British-Asian Bond.
You can get odds of 25-1 of him being named the next James Bond.
Interestingly enough, William Hill also has the likes of Kanye West (200-1), Emilia Fox (500-1), Will Smith, Colin Firth and David Beckham (1000-1) all on their list of potential next Bonds.
