The Batman 2 is easily one of our most anticipated DC movie releases in the next few years, and the movie’s release date has been revealed. Even though DC Studios’ co-CEO revealed a whole bunch of exciting stuff in his new slate of DC movies and TV shows, I’m still most excited to see what Matt Reeves does next with the version of Batman he created with Robert Pattinson.

Earlier today, James Gunn announced stuff like The Brave And The Bold, which will introduce the DC Universe’s Batman. He also announced Waller, Booster Gold, Paradise Lost, a new Green Lantern series called Lanterns, Superman: Legacy and even a Swamp Thing movie.

According to Variety, The Batman sequel is going to be called The Batman: Part II, and it’ll be released in cinemas on October 3rd, 2025. James Gunn also revealed during his DC slate announcement video that The Batman: Part II and Joker: Folie A Deux will be part of DC Elseworlds.

The Joker sequel movie will be released on October 4th, 2024. Gunn also revealed that the animated Teen Titans Go! series will be part of the DC Elseworlds roster.

There’s also a separate Superman movie produced by J.J. Abrams and written by Ta-Nehisi Coates which will reportedly also be outside of the DC Universe.

This project is reportedly still in development. Gunn and Safran said they are eagerly awaiting a draft of Coates’ screenplay.
