Wonder Woman 1984 Patty Jenkins Already Has The Plot Of Wonder Woman 3 Figured Out

Wonder Woman 1984’s very first trailer was revealed this weekend at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Saõ Paulo and the film’s director/writer Patty Jenkins also revealed that they’ve already got the plot for Wonder Woman 3 all figured out.

The upcoming DC Comics movie is her second film in the DCEU after she helmed the first Wonder Woman movie, which was both a smash hit at the box office and with critics.

Wonder Woman 1984’s trailer teased that the film is going to be another spectacle film involving the Amazonian warrior, and it’ll see the likes of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine return as Diana Prince and Steve Trevor respectively.

The trailer also gave us glimpses of Pedro Pascal’s character, Maxwell Lord and Kristen Wiig who’ll be playing Cheetah in the movie.

As far as I’m aware, Maxwell Lord will be the film’s main villain, and Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah will be a bit of a different take on the traditional version of the character fans might be familiar with from the comics.

Anyway, back to Patty Jenkins, who revealed whilst at CCXP in Brazil that she already has the plot of Wonder Woman 3 mapped out.

Here’s what she said about it:

We actually already know the whole story to [Wonder Woman 3] and then some because there is an Amazon [spinoff] movie as well and so we already have it all mapped out. It’s just a matter of will we change our minds and when.

Jenkins then went on to reveal that they might have a bit of a break before starting work on the third movie in this Wonder Woman franchise.

I think what we don’t want to do is do it back to back. It’s been great doing these two movies back to back, but I think it’s important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes.

I think that sounds like a very good idea for Jenkins and Gadot to take a little bit of a break before getting started on Wonder Woman 3 after making Wonder Woman 1984 and the first Wonder Woman movie back to back.
