Tommy Wiseau’s Joker Audition Tape Is The Best And The Most Terrifying Thing Ever

Tommy Wiseau – the writer, director and star of The Room – has just given us something even more special: his audition tape for The Joker and it’s the best and most terrifying thing you’ve ever seen.

Tommy Wiseau is easily one of the strangest men in Hollywood. He was pretty well-known for having made the best worst film of all time in The Room, yet his career’s rocketed ever since James Franco made The Disaster Artist which is about how the cult hit came to be. However, despite there being a film about him, Wiseau is still an enigma. We don’t know how old he is, where he’s really from and how he managed to pull together the $6 million it took to make The Room.

Wiseau recently stated an interest in playing the Joker, a role which is currently rumoured to be going to Joaquin Phoenix who may or may not get to play the infamous DC Comics villain in Todd Philipps’ Joker origins movie. Despite Wiseau’s interest in the role, even he’s admitted that he may be a bit too much for it, and now, thanks to this Joker audition tape he put together with the good folks at Nerdist, we now know how brilliantly insane, hilarious and terrifying his version of the character would be.

“I can’t play the joker,” admits Wiseau (via GeekTryant). “They wanted to do another one, which is probably … Because I don’t want to say negative about actors, but I go by emotion. Meaning that my background as stage actor, getting into the emotion, what you can feel through The Room as well, all the progress for what I did. Sometimes they don’t let me, they say ‘Too much emotion.'”

Honestly, after watching this audition tape, I think that DC and Warner Bros. should seriously consider the actor for the role. Maybe Wiseau’s Joker could be one of the Jokers from an alternate universe; the most demented Joker of all who subjects people to watching his awful movies until they start laughing hysterically and can’t stop. Now that would be Joker movie worth watching. I’d even be up for seeing Greg Sestero as Batman in this particular Joker movie.
