It seems as though Sony Pictures’ Latin American YouTube channel might have revealed that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will be in Spider-Man 3. This is something that’s been talked about for quite some time now.
The scoop originally came from Popcorned Planet’s Andy Signore, and he then wrote it up for FandomWire. However, ET Canada then went directly to Sony Pictures for confirmation, and their response was that those casting rumours hadn’t been confirmed. People then took this as Sony ‘debunking’ the scoop, however, it wasn’t really them debunking it at all. They were just saying that no casting had been confirmed yet.
Well, this new video, which you can watch in the Tweet below, is supposedly taken from Sony’s Latin American YouTube channel, and it’s since been taken down from YouTube. However, you can still find it on Twitter. The video seems to confirm that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland will all star in Spider-Man 3, which is bonkers if you ask me.

But, when I say “bonkers”, I don’t mean that it’s not happening. I just think we live in very strange times. A time when Maguire and Garfield will return to play their versions of Spider-Man in a Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Personally, I think it would be great. However, I can’t help but feel that this would be overcramming the movie slightly. But, what do I know? I don’t write scripts… Well… I used to, but they weren’t very good.
So, is this video seemingly confirming that Garfield and Maguire are returning for Spider-Man 3? I’m not sure. However, it’s really interesting and this will do a lot in fanning the flames. People really want to see this happen, and by now, there have just been too many reports that this is happening. from a variety of outlets – most recently Geookosity, who reported that Maguire and Garfield had signed on to star in a Spider-Verse movie.
