Nathan Fillion And Co-Stars Suited Up In New Set Photos From James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad is currently filming and it looks like the stars of the movie, including Nathan Fillion, are having a good time on the set of James Gunn’s upcoming DC Comics movie.

It had previously been reported that former Firefly actor Nathan Fillion would be playing Arms-Fall-Off-Boy, but according to these new set photos, he’ll actually be playing Blackguard.

The set photos show him in full costume next to Jai Courtney who’ll be reprising his role as Captain Boomerang from the first Suicide Squad movie.

He’s one of the few actors to be returning to the DC Comics property. Other actors returning include Margot Robbie, who’ll be returning as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg.

One actor who won’t be returning is Jared Leto, who won’t be reprising his role as The Joker in this movie (thank God).

These new set photos, which were posted on Twitter by Thomas Polito, also included Pete Davidson as Savant, Flula Borg as Javalin, Sean Gunn is in the mo-cap suit, supposedly as Weasel, and Mayling Ng as Mongol.

There are no details on the film’s plot as of yet, but Gunn’s involvement alone is enough to ensure that I’ll be standing in line on opening night.

He hasn’t made a film that I didn’t enjoy yet, and I highly doubt he’ll mess things up with The Suicide Squad. If anything, it’s the perfect property for him to bring to the big screen.

Once he’s done with The Suicide Squad, Gunn will then start work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after he was rehired onto the project following his sacking in what was one of the most bizarre stories from last year.

What do you make of these set photos? I know, they do look a little bit ‘cosplay-y’. They look a bit like heroes from The CW’s superhero TV shows.

Yet, remember, these are just set photos, and they’ll look very different with some good CGI and lighting.

One thing I have loved about the DC movies is the way the heroes look in their movies.

They always get it spot on, and I really do doubt they’ll start going wrong with The Suicide Squad.
