The Suicide Squad’s James Gunn Claims There’s No Marvel DC Comics Rivalry

The writer and director of The Suicide Squad, James Gunn has been pretty busy.

He’s been hard at work trying to get his DC Comics movie done and it’s looking very good.

Gunn will then start working on his next project immediately after The Suicide Squad.

What’s that next project, you ask? Well, he’ll be returning to Marvel Studios to direct Guardians Of The Galaxy Vo. 3.

James Gunn was fired from the Marvel movie project after some old tweets resurfaced.

He was then directed to write and direct what is basically a reboot of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.

Warner Bros. Pictures didn’t waste any time in hiring the writer and director.

it might prove to be one of the best decisions they’ve ever made.

James Gunn has already proven himself to be one of the best directors and writers working in Hollywood today.

He made Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

I’d argue that they are two of the best Marvel Studios movies ever made.

Well, if there’s anyone who should know whether there’s any beef between Marvel and DC Comics, it would be James Gunn.

He was recently asked this on Twitter and his response was a categorical, ‘no’.

Here’s what James Gunn had to say on the matter:

Honest to God, I can’t remember anyone at either Marvel or DC ever condemning the other company.

I think there’s probably slightly less competition between Marvel & DC than between Marvel or DC & all other movies.

After all, we are in very similar boats, relatively speaking.

That’s a very interesting and honest response to the question.

He makes it sound as if Marvel and DC Comics respect one another and don’t throw any shade on the other’s movies.

That’s pretty cool if you ask me, and maybe some fans should follow suit.

What do you make of James Gunn’s response? Are you looking forward to watching his upcoming DC Comics movie, The Suicide Squad?
