The Simpsons Will No Longer Feature White Actors Voicing Non-White Roles

It’s been revealed that The Simpson will no longer feature white actors voicing non-white roles, and it’s about time that someone does this.

I love The Simpsons, but there’s been a bit of an issue on the show ever since it started.

Most of the non-white characters are voiced by white actors.

Take the likes of Apu, who’s a problematic character to begin with, but is made much more problematic by the fact that he’s voiced by Hank Azaria.

Azaria is a white actor and he’s been voicing an Indiana character for years.

He did reveal a while back that he would no longer be voicing the role, but there are other cases like this on the show.

Well, it’s been revealed now via Deadline that Disney has opted to stop trend this with The Simpsons.

This will affect black characters on the show as Carlton Carlson and Dr. Julius M. Hibbert.

“Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters,” the series said Friday.

The Simpsons‘ new policy comes after an announcement made by Family Guy voice-actor Mike Henry earlier on Friday.

Henry revealed he will no longer voice the black Cleveland Brown character on Family Guy.

There have also been two white actors, Jenny Slate of Netflix’s animated series Big Mouth, and Kristen Bell of Central Park on Apple TV+, who’ve said that they will stop voicing the mixed-race characters in those shows.
