The Matrix 4 Won’t Be A Prequel Despite The Fact It’ll Feature Young Morpheus

It’s been revealed that The Matrix 4 will not be a prequel despite the fact that one of the movie’s characters has been confirmed to be young Morpheus.

It was revealed a while back that Watchmen and Aquaman actor, Yayha Abdul-Mateen II will be playing a younger version of Morpheus in the movie, however, this film will not be a prequel.

This news comes from We Got This Covered’s sources, who claim that the film features a younger Morpheus because he’s simply making himself appear younger whilst in the Matrix.

That actually makes a lot of sense especially with the likes of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity.

It was also revealed that The Matrix 4 will feature the likes of Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff in undisclosed roles.

I’m really interested to see who’ll they’ll end up playing in the movie, but they do have something of Mr. Smith about them, so they could be playing updated versions of The Matrix’s strange virus.

It was also revealed that The Matrix 4 and John Wick Chapter 4 would be coming out on the same day, making it a very special Keanu Reeves day.

The Matrix’s original director, Lana Wachowski,is also returning to the franchise as writer and director.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and globally distribute the film.

Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell co-wrote the script with Wachowski, who will also produce with Grant Hill.

The film is expected to begin production sometime at the beginning of 2020, which is pretty soon, and the film has a May 21st, 2021 release date.

All of this sounds very exciting. Are you excited for The Matrix 4?
