The King’s Man First Trailer Starring Ralph Fiennes Has Landed

The very first trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s next Kingsman film, The King’s Men, has dropped and it’s a prequel to the other movies in the franchise.

The Kingsman franchise has been quite an interesting one. Matthew Vaughn’s very first film, I would argue, was groundbreaking in the spy movie genre.

It took the tropes from the Bond films and others like the Bourne movies and turned the genre completely on its head.

The first film was funny, looked incredible, featured some brilliant action set pieces and was unlike anything we had seen before.

However, Vaughn then make Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which for me was a huge disappointment.

It failed to bring the franchise any further forward. If anything it took it backwards, and Vaughn opted to do a prequel film, as opposed to another movie with the likes of Colin Firth’s Harry Hart and Taron Egerton’s Gary “Eggsy” Unwin.

The King’s Man will instead detail how it all began for the secret organisation, and it seems as though Ralph Fiennes’ character, The Duke of Oxford.

The trailer for the upcoming film has just been released and it feels like this one might put the franchise back on track.

The film’s synopsis is as follows: “As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency.

This film boasts an impressive cast, with the likes of Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou and Charles Dance all joining Ralph in this third Kingsman movie.

I do feel like this was the right move for the third film, and it might even end up helping the franchise to go on for just a little bit longer.

I especially like the World War I setting, which I think might suit the likes of Matthew Vaughn who hasn’t made a film in this particular time period up until now.
