The Batman Will Star Paul Dano As The Riddler

There’s been a heck of a lot of column inches devoted to Matt Reeves’ The Batman this week. We began the week finding out that Zoe Kravitz will be playing Catwoman in the movie, and now we’ve learnt that Paul Dano has just signed on to play The Riddler in the movie

This news was confirmed this morning by The Hollywood Reporter who revealed that he has signed on that dotted line, meaning that he is officially playing the iconic DC Comics villain in Matt Reeves’ Batman movie.

I think this is a brilliant bit of casting. Paul Dano is a terrific actor and has proven that in every single movie he’s been in.

He was brilliant in films like Prisoners, 12 Years A Slave, Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood. He’s just a terrific actor, and he’ll make a brilliant Riddler.

I was getting used to the idea of Nicholas Hoult playing the role, however, now that Dano’s been confirmed, I can’t think of anyone better for the role.

He’ll be starring alongside Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and Jeffrey Wright (who’ll be playing Commissioner Gordon in the movie), and I have to say that this cast is looking very good indeed.

Could Dano be a better Riddler than Carrey

Jim Carrey was the last actor to play The Riddler on-screen, and his performance I often think is overlooked.

He starred in Batman Forever, and the film itself was a bit rubbish, but Carrey made a really captivating Riddler.

The Batman will be hitting UK cinemas on June 25th, 2021. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments below.
