Warner Bros Thinks Superman Is No Longer Relevant And Fans Aren’t Happy About It

Do you think that Superman is still relevant in today’s world? Well, it sounds as if Warner Bros. Pictures doesn’t, and fans aren’t happy about it.

It was revealed earlier this week that Warner Bros. had a meeting with Michael B. Jordan in which he pitched a new Superman movie to them.

Personally, I felt this was great news, but digging a little deeper, I discovered that Jordan wouldn’t be able to act in the movie because his schedule is already too full.

However, Warner Bros. might be enlisting the help of J.J. Abrams and his production company, Bad Robot, to help ‘make Superman relevant again’ (I’m paraphrasing here).

Anyway, this admission came via a report by Variety, in which it was revealed that executives at Warner Bros. Pictures were struggling to come up with ways to make the DC Comics superhero relevant again.

Is Superman no longer relevant? Warner Bros. seems to think so…

Here’s what Variety tweeted on the matter:

Warner Bros. has less clarity on what to do with #Superman. However, there have been discussions with Michael B. Jordan and J.J. Abrams to help make the Man of Steel more relevant

That’s pretty damming if you ask me, and fans then took to Twitter to complain about this stance on Superman.

Here are just a few tweets in which DC Comics and DCEU fans expressed their anger with Warner Bros. Pictures’ attitude towards one of DC Comics’ most famous superheroes.

These are just a few of the tweets posted which voice DC Comics’ fans displeasure at the way Warner Bros. views Superman. There were a lot of them.

The future of Superman on the big screen in uncertain. It’s still unclear whether Henry Cavill will ever get to play the role again.

It seems as though he’s out at the moment, but there’s been no official statement made claiming that he’s no longer playing Superman.

I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see what happens moving forward.

Superman is literally a refugee and ‘illegal’ immigrant, forced to leave his homeland, a world where the ruling elite (other than his father and mother) ignored and denied the scientific fact of a clear coming catastrophe that would end their world.

He has the power to help the downtrodden and abused (especially refugees/immigrants like himself), hell, to even help humanity with the kryptonian tech in his Fortress/ship computers, to try to avert our own disaster and do what his own people did not.

His main villain is a megalomaniaal evil and corrupt billionaire who hates aliens. I mean, the President Luthor storyline pretty much predicted Trump becoming president.

But hey, ‘not relevant’ today, rite?
