How Can You Stream Captain Marvel Online?

Captain Marvel is one of the most divisive Marvel Cinematic Universe films to have come out, probably ever. That said, Iron Man 3 could come very close. People were split on whether it was a good movie or not, yet it seems as though many people are still trying to figure out how to stream Captain Marvel online.

This isn’t really surprising since it did have its fans – myself included – and it featured some brilliant moments involving Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, a.k.a. Carol Danvers. There were some few scenes with Goose, the cat, which were pretty memorable.

Streaming the movie online isn’t actually as hard as people may think. Captain Marvel is currently available to purchase in both digital and Blu-ray formats.

You can buy the streaming version of Captain Marvel via Amazon. It’s priced at $19.99 in the US and it’s at £13.99 here in the UK, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

The streaming version of the movie comes with added bonus features if you go for the HD version of the movie.

Meanwhile, if you opt to purchase the DVD or Blu-ray versions of Captain Marvel, then you’ll also be able to watch a whole slew of features, including one called The Origin of Nick Fury, and one feature titled Hiss-sterical Cat-titude, which is all about the brilliant Cat star that played Goose in the movie.

There are also six deleted scenes and a gag reel, which are always good fun to watch.

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a streaming platform on which to watch Captain Marvel without having to buy the movie outright, then you can wait for the release of Disney Plus.

Disney Plus is coming to the US and other selected territories (Canada and the Netherlands) on November 12th, so not too long to wait until then.

Captain Marvel will be one of the movies made available on Disney’s new streaming platform on Day one.

However, if you’re living in the UK, then you’re going to have to wait a little while longer as there’s still no release date for Disney Plus on this side of the pond.

That said, it does sound like it’ll be made available for UK customers early next year. The earlier the better we say.

Back in February, Disney’s CEO Bob Iger highlighted that Captain Marvel wouldn’t be coming to Netflix after its cinema release.

Instead, they wanted to make it available as soon as possible on Disney Plus, and we now know that that will be immediately the moment the streaming platform goes live.

Deadline reported that Iger shared this news during a conference call with Wall Street analysts.

Captain Marvel was released here in the UK on March 8th, and it really did well at the box office.

It opened to a whopping $1.1 billion globally. $421 million of that came from US audiences, whilst it made and impressive $699 million internationally.

Captain Marvel ended up with the second-highest global opening weekend total for a superhero movie. Only Avengers: Infinity War trumped it.

Meanwhile, of the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only the Avengers movies, Black PantherIron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War had better openings in the US.

Captain Marvel is a powerhouse

It was also revealed, via Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige no less, that Captain Marvel was one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Feige recently told Cosmic Book News the following: “She’s one of the most popular characters in our comics, she’s one of the most powerful characters in the comics, and will be the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

It certainly seemed that way in Avengers: Endgame. Even Thanos was worried about going toe-to-toe with Carol Danvers the minute she arrived on the scene.

It did seem like the film’s directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, did try to tackle the issue of her supreme power by having a bit less of her in the movie, and only letting her show off her real strength towards the end of the movie.

We already know that Brie Larson will appear as Captain Marvel in the sequel, however, the actress recently revealed that she didn’t know when the movie would start shooting.

She told Variety in a recent interview: “No. I don’t really know what job I’m going to do next, which is very exciting.”

Larson continued: “I don’t even know what my life’s gonna be! And most of this year, you know, I had to do the press tour. But then the last half of the year, I’ve just been focusing way more on just doing what I want to do that’s completely outside of my job.

“I just feel like it’s been this incubation time. Whether it’s incubation because I’m developing projects, and also incubation myself, being, like: OK, I’m going to be turning 30. I’ve been working a lot. I need to just like change it up and see what’s there for me — see who I am now. And which ways that I want to grow.”

However, we have heard rumours that Captain Marvel 2 might be called Captain Marvel: Secret Invasion, which I believe would be a great name for the sequel.

Hopefully, for Marvel Studios, Marvel fans and Brie herself, they’ll begin filming Captain Marvel 2 very soon and we’ll get to see her back in action sooner rather than later.
