Stranger Things Season 5: Netflix Release Date, Cast & Story

Stranger Things Season 4 is coming to Netflix in 2022, but what about Stranger Things Season 5?

Is a fifth season of the hit Netflix show in the works?

If so, when will it be released and what will happen in it?

These are questions we’re going to try to answer in this article.

Now, there is no official word on whether Stranger Things Season 5 is going to happen yet.

However, the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, did state in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Season 4 will not be the end of the show.

Here’s what Ross Duffer had to say on whether Season 4 will be the end of the show:

Season four won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.

So, as far as that question’s concerned, yes, Stranger Things Season 5 will happen.

Netflix hasn’t announced Season 5 officially yet.

However, we can safely assume that they are hard at work on the show as we speak.

Moreover, in an interview with Gold Derby, David Harbour, who played Jim Hopper on the show, confirmed that Season 4 won’t be the end.

I will tell you in Season 4 and in Season 5, if we’re ever able to film again, there is a lot to be revealed around the complexities of [Hopper’s] story, which is really rich, and I’m really excited for you to see. Because we know the ending, you’ll be able to go back and watch it and see, you know, what we were planting in Season 3 that paid off in Season 4 and Season 5.

So, this just goes to confirm even further that Season 5 is in the works.

OK, so onto the trickier question: when will Stranger Things Season 5 be released?

That really isn’t an easy question to answer mainly because of the pandemic and the havoc it’s created.

In an ideal world – especially for Netflix – Season 5 of the show will come out about a year after Season 4.

So, if Season 4 comes out at the beginning of 2022, which I believe it will, then Netflix would love Season 5 of the show to come out around about the same time the following year.

However, Stranger Things’ seasons haven’t been very regular as far as release dates are concerned.

I would expect Stranger Things Season 5 to be released at some point in 2023.

However, that could easily be pushed into 2024 because of complications brought on by the pandemic and the actors’ busy schedules.

Well, this is an even tougher question to answer than the previous one.

The Duffer Brothers and some people at Netflix might be the only people who know what will happen.

David Harbour might also know a thing or two.

However, I’m hoping that there will be at least some sort of happy ending.

Oh yes, and I’m pretty sure that Season 5 will be the show’s last.

There have been rumours of a spinoff show, but nothing concrete has been announced or revealed yet.

I think that there will be an interesting story arc for Jim Hopper which will carry on into Season 5.

I am also hoping that Eleven will finally get the answers she’s been seeking her whole life.

Why was she experimented on? Why was she chosen? Where did her powers come from?

There are so many questions that need answering, and I think they will be answered in Stranger Things Season 5.
