When Will Stranger Things Season 4 Be Released On Netflix?

It was revealed back in September that Stranger Things season 4 would be returning, but Netflix failed to reveal a release date for the new show, so we’ve decided to do some digging and figure out when the season will come out.

So, what do we know about the upcoming season of Stranger Things? The truth is, not much.

Netflix hasn’t officially revealed a release date for Stranger Things season 4, and they probably won’t until the very last minute.

That’s how the streaming giants tend to work. They don’t tend to reveal anything about the show until the very last minute.

This just means that people spend months and months theorising on stuff to do with the show, in this case Stranger Things.

After season 3, there’s an awful lot of theories going around. There are a lot of theories on what actually happened to Chief Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour) and whether he’s dead or not.

The show itself did seem to make that fact blatantly obvious until the rather Marvel-esque post-credits scene in which one of the Russian guards could be heard saying: ‘Not the American” when picking a prisoner to feed to their very own Demogorgon.

Anyway, back to possible release dates for Stranger Things season 4. At the moment, the best way to try and figure out when Netflix will release the season is by looking at when they released the previous ones.

If you go by the release dates of the second and third seasons, then it would be safe to assume that season 4 of Stranger Things will be released in mid to late 2021.

That seems to me like a huge wait for season 4, and there have been some fan theories which have suggested the show might end up coming back in 2020.

going by the release of the second and third seasons, fans can likely expect the next one to premiere on the streaming service mid to late-2021.

Fans love going over every frame of Stranger Things one by one to try and find any clues to what’s going to come next, and that’s exactly what one fan on Reddit did.

This eagle-eyed fan analysed several frames from several seasons as well as behind-the-scenes footage and has come up with a rather convincing argument suggesting that Stranger Things season 4 could be with us a lot sooner than we’ve been led to believe.

Posting the theory to Reddit, the viewer centred on the drawings that can be spotted in Will Byers’s room which are revealed in the set tour video Netflix posted on their YouTube channel.

There’s one picture in particular which shows a man who looks suspiciously like Jim Hopper wearing a prisoner’s outfit hanging on a wall.

This could very well be ‘the American’ I mentioned earlier.

But back to the theory on who this suggests an earlier release date for Stranger Things season 4.

If you take a closer look at this man’s prison garb, you’ll spot the number 403 on his chest.

This was of note to the viewer because it was the same number on the door of the hospital room where Nancy Wheeler visits Mrs Driscoll in season 3. Spooky isn’t it.

What’s so special about this number? Well, the viewer suggested that it could be a possible release date for season 4, meaning that the show could either be coming out in April or March 2020, which would be much better than having to wait a whole year for the next season of Stranger Things.
