Stranger Things Season 2’s Teaser Premiered at the Super Bowl

The very first teaser for Stranger Things Season 2 was premiered at this year’s Super Bowl and it looks like we’re going to see more of the Upside Down! Check out the trailer below.

Netflix’s Stranger Things was one of the best series I watched in 2016, which is saying something since it was a very good year for TV. Not only did it hark back to 80s movies that I adore: Alien, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Carrie, Stand By Me, The Goonies, The Thing, a lot of John Hughes movies… but creators Matt and Ross Duffer also managed to get incredible performances out of very young actors. It also featured a brilliant comeback performance from Winona Ryder. The first season ended on a bit of cliffhanger (I won’t go into details for fear of spoiling it for those of you whom haven’t had the pleasure of watching the show yet), and I can’t wait to see where they’ll take the show next. Check out Stranger Things Season 2’s teaser trailer below.

The world is turning upside down.

If this teaser’s anything to go by, we’ll be spending a lot more time in the Upside Down. Perhaps our world and the mysterious parallel universe will end up colliding, which given what was lurking in the shadows in the Upside Down is a terrifying thought. It’s certainly what the tagline, “The world is turning upside down,” insinuates. The teaser also ‘teases’ some more 80s movie references, the most obvious one being Ghostbusters, since our young heroes appear in the ghost hunters’ iconic uniforms, probably for a Halloween party.

We’re going to have to wait until this Halloween to see the second season, but it’s certainly something worth waiting for.
