Where Is The First Order In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’s Trailer?

This is a bit like playing a game of Where’s Wally. Watch the final Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker trailer and try to stop the First Order in any way whatsoever.

Can’t find a single clue that they still exist? No, neither could I. The First Order is mysteriously absent in this final The Rise Of Skywalker trailer.

Personally, I find this very suspicious. Very suspicious indeed. What are they doing? Where are they now? Why is there no sign of General Hux in this trailer?

We already know that The First Order will be in this movie. I mean, they’re one of the big threats, along with Kylo Ren and Palpatine.

Will The First Order be put in second place in The Rise Of Skywalker?

We also know that Richard E. Grant will be in the movie as Allegiant General Pryde (Richard E. Grant), who seems to be working alongside General Hux.

He might even be Hux’s boss, but that would have me question where he’s been all this time if he is indeed the boss.

However, there’s no reference to them in this trailer. Why is that? And then it came to me. They’re probably not in the trailer because they don’t really matter.

The Rise Of Skywalker is no longer about The First Order and the threat they pose. The presence of Darth Sidious is much more important. He’s the one behind everything pulling the strings.

I think the film will end up being more about the battle between Rey and Kylo Ren and then possibly Rey and Kylo both against Darth Sidious.

The Resistance and The First Order will have their fight in the background, and it would resemble what happened in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

The beginning of the trailer even seems to be set on the forest moon of Endor, which harkens back to Return of the Jedi.

The First Order is playing second fiddle to Kylo and Rey

So, that’s probably one of the main reasons why The First Order isn’t in this trailer, but the other is that people are more interested in the main characters, and none of the main characters (apart from Kylo) are part of The First Order.

Kylo seems to be doing very much his own thing in The Rise Of Skywalker. He seems to be more interested in going up against Rey than leading The First Order.

I think he’ll leave those duties to Hux and Pryde, and that’s how it’s supposed to be. Kylo’s got much bigger issues that beating the Resistance.

He wants to destroy everything and leave it all behind, and he’s talking more about the Force – the Jedi and the Sith. He’s got much bigger things in mind than just crushing some rebellious individuals.

So, does this mean that The First Order won’t be that important in this movie? No, definitely not.

I think many of the film’s most impactful scenes will involve the Resistance and the First Order.

It’ll still be The First Order vs The Resistance

Just look at the shot of all the Resistance ships coming together on-screen. It’s a fabulous shot, and I think it’ll be the beginning of a massive battle against the First Order fleet.

There’s also that shot of the Star Destroyer coming out of what looks to be ice. That shot is another beautiful one.

So, yes. The First Order will still play a part in this movie, but I do think they’ll be playing second fiddle to the likes of Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, Po, BB8, C3PO and R2D2.
