Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Latest TV Spot Features More Of John Boyega’s Finn

There’s a new TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi that concentrates more on John Boyega’s Finn, Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron and BB-8. Check it out below.

John Boyega’s Finn played such a big part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You could argue that he’s the most important and interesting character ever to appear in a Star War movie. We’d never before seen someone defect from the Empire before, yet Finn did exactly that. Moreover, Finn reminded us that there are real people in those Stormtrooper outfits. It’s also the first time we’ve seen a black character be part of the saga’s principal protagonists. We’ve had Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu, yet they were very much side characters. John Boyega’ Finn is also hilarious, brave and just fun to be around and we haven’t really seen much of him in Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s promotional material.

There’s now a TV spot that focuses a lot more on Boyega’s Finn and it looks like he’s the same guy we came to love in the first movie. He’s still the happy-go-lucky guy who’s always ready for battle. His enthusiasm is infectious. No wonder he’s so popular. One of the film’s main fights will be between Finn and Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma, who got a bit of raw deal in the first movie. Finn put her in the trash compactor in the first movie of this new Star Wars trilogy if you recall. She wasn’t the badass chrome trooper we were all expecting from given her marketing.

Hopefully, Rian Johnson has managed to give her a more interesting character arc in The Last Jedi and we’ll actually get to see the Phasma we were promised in The Force Awakens. There are also’s a brief snippet involving Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, who was another character we would have liked to have seen more from in The Force Awakens. I think Isaac’s character will play a huge part in the Resistance in this movie and may even become their leader near the end of the film. We’ll have to wait and see. As for BB-8, I just cannot wait to see that cute droid again.
