Shazam 2’s Release Date Finally Revealed And It’ll Star Zachary Levi

It had been reported that Shazam 2 had been officially revealed at Comic-Con Experience in Brazil, also referred to as CCXP, but apparently those reports were false.

Yet, it’s now been officially revealed that Shazam 2 is happening and we even have a release date for the film.

The upcoming DCEU movie will also see Zachary Levi return as the titular superhero, Shazam.

As for the release date, it was revealed (via ComicBook.com) that Shazam 2 will be hitting cinemas on April 1, 2022, which means it’ll come out a few months after Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam which is set to be released on December 22nd, 2021.

There’s been no word yet on whether the film wants to feature the young characters in the second movie, but if they don’t want to, then they’ve got to get a move on.

“If we don’t shoot another movie real quick, then they’re just gonna be men,” Levi said of his co-stars Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer.

“There’s no point in saying Shazam to transform, they’re already transformed! So that’s all I can tell you about the sequel, but I’m very excited to get into it, making it, and I hope you all enjoy it when we do.”

The future of the DC Comics movies is rather interesting with the likes of Wonder Woman 1984, Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2.

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment has a good opportunity here to make some really interesting films, especially with the likes of Joker gaining so much attention this awards season.

Joker has already got four nominations at the Golden Globes and it’s looking like the film is going to get even more nominations further down the line.

Shazam 2 will be coming to cinemas on December 22nd, 2021. Are you looking forward to the movie? Let us know in the comments below.
