When Will Ragnarok Season 2 Be Released On Netflix?

Ragnarok Season 1 has taken Netflix by ‘storm’, and we were wondering when they might end up releasing Season 2.

It was revealed that the show ended up in Netflix’s most popular shows and/or movies this Netflix.

According to What’s On Netflix, the Norwegian show came in fifth position.

It ended up being behind The Stranger, Sex Education, Uncut Gems and Next In Fashion.

That’s a very good club to be part of, especially for a six-part Norwegian series about a boy who finds out he’s Thor.

That’s the premise of the show in the a nutshell.

A boy, Magne (played by David Stakston) moves to the small village of Edda in Norway and discovers he’s got powers he didn’t have before.

He then finds out that not everything is as lovely and idyllic as it seems in this small Norwegian village.

As for when Ragnarok Season 2 will be released on Netflix, we haven’t got an official date yet.

Netflix tends to keep this sort of information about their shows very secret.

However, we’re sure they will be making a Season 2 because the first season proved to be so popular.

Netflix is also investing a lot of money into international content, and this sort of show is what they like.

New episodes of the show should turn up on Netflix in early 2021.

It’s also looking likely that the second season will be longer than six episodes.

This will allow the shows writers’ more room to expand on their use of Norse mythology in the series.

As it stands, it looks like the show’s main cast will be back.

Here’s a list of all of the actors who will definitely return in Season 2:

  • David Stakston as Magne
  • Jonas Strand Gravli as Laurits
  • Herman Tømmeraas as Fjor
  • Theresa Frostad Eggesbø as Saxa
  • Emma Bones as Gry
  • Henriette Steenstrup as Turid
  • Synnøve Macody Lund as Ran

However, what’s not so sure if whether Gísli Örn Garðarsson will be returning in Season 2 as Vidar.

The first season ended with him lying on the floor after having seemingly keen killed by Magne’s bolt of lightning.

Personally, I think he’s bound to return in Ragnarok Season 2.

Since when can a bolt of lightning kill a giant?

As for Isolde (Ylva Bjørkaas Thedin), it looks like she won’t be back in Season 2.

She was killed off in the very first episode and that’s a shame because I would have liked to have seen more from her.

So, what could Ragnarok Season 2’s plot be about?

That’s not an easy question to answer since there’s so little information about the show’s future out there.

What will happen is we’ll get to see Magne explore his powers and begin to remember his past.

Hopefully, we’ll get more Thor-based action since I think Netflix will give the show more money for Season 2.

I also think we’ll get to explore Norse mythology more in Season 2.

Perhaps we’ll end up seeing more mythical creatures and see the giants in their true form.

There’s also the question of Gry and Fjor’s relationship.

Will Fjor end up joining Magne in bringing down the other giants?

Possibly. That could be one way to go.

Or, he could end up becoming Magne’s mortal enemy should Vidar turn out to be dead.

We still don’t know whether Ragnarok Season 2 is even happening yet.

This means we might not see a trailer for the upcoming season until the very last minute.

As mentioned above, Netflix really likes to keep things under wraps until the very last second.

They’ve done this with so many of their original shows in the past.

For instance, I didn’t even know this show was happening until it popped up on my Netflix feed.

They’re very good at keeping secrets, so don’t expect a trailer for Ragnarok Season 2 any time soon.
