Mike Colter Reportedly Won’t Be Playing Luke Cage In The MCU As The Role Is Being Recast

Mike Colter has been playing Luke Cage for quite a while now on the Marvel Netflix TV show, but it looks like his days playing the role have officially come to an end despite rumours he could turn up in the MCU.

There’s been a lot of chatter about whether Mike Colter and the rest of his Marvel Netflix TV show buddies would be making a comeback in the MCU.

It was reported that Jon Bernthal would be returning as The Punisher in the MCU, and there are even reports that he might get his own movie.

Then it was revealed that Marvel Studios wanted Charlie Cox to play Daredevil in the MCU as well.

However, we then learnt that not all the Marvel Netflix heroes would be making into the MCU as it was revealed that Finn Jones wasn’t going to be playing Iron Fist in the MCU as the role was being recast.

That was quite sad news to hear because Jones wasn’t terrible. It was the show that wasn’t too good, and he shared great on-screen chemistry with Mike Colter.

It’s not been reported by We Got This Covered that Mike Colter will also have to say goodbye to the role of Luke Cage as he will not be turning up as the character in the MCU.

We Got This Covered’s sources revealed that Marvel Studios is looking to recast the role, and I say that’s a huge shame.

Colter was literally perfect in the role, and yet again, he was the victim of some poor writing and direction.

That said, I did enjoy the Luke Cage series, even though it was rather camp, and Colter could be a tad wooden at times.

But that was the character. He’s a bit like that. He’s the strong silent type, and Colter did that perfectly.

Anyway, who would you like to see in the role of Luke Cage in the MCU? Let us know in the comments below.
