Marvel And Sony Will Make A Third Spider-Man Movie Together After All

We were all a bit worried there for a second. A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Marvel and Sony Pictures wouldn’t be making a third Spider-Man movie together, which just seemed crazy to me.

It was reported that they couldn’t agree on how to split the earnings. It was suggested that Marvel wanted a bigger cut of the profits, but Sony wasn’t prepared to give them that since the Spider-Man franchise is their main money-spinner.

However, it looks like the two movie studios have sorted things out, since Marvel’s President, Kevin Feige, revealed that they would be making the third film together after all. You can all breath a sigh of relief now.

The news comes courtesy of Variety, who revealed that Feige made a statement in which he stated that Spider-Man will remain part of the MCU (the Marvel Cinematic Universe).

Here’s what Marvel’s President had to say on the matter: “I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it.

“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe.

“He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

There was a rather worrying moment where I really thought that it might be all over for Tom Holland’s version of the wall-crawler since it wouldn’t really make much sense having him no longer be part of the MCU.

His version of Peter Parker has become one of the main draws of the MCU, and he’s sort of being billed as Tony Stark’s replacement.

This was made especially evident in Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which it was revealed that Tony had chosen Peter specifically to take over things should he no longer be around.

Now that Sony and Marvel have sorted things out, they can now concentrate on the next chapter in Peter Parker’s very eventful life.

He now lives in a world where (SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Far From Home) everybody knows Peter is Spider-Man, and if that’s not enough, they all believe he murdered Mysterio thanks to J. Jonah Jameson’s brilliant little cameo in the film’s post-credits.
