Marvel’s Kevin Feige Has Been Promoted To Chief Content Officer

It’s been a good few years for Marvel Studio’s President, Kevin Feige, who’s taken the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from strength to strength.

The MCU is now the most profitable franchise of all time and they basically dominate Hollywood nowadays.

It’s difficult to think that Marvel was bankrupt at one point and selling off the movie rights to their comic book properties just to stay afloat.

We now live in a post-Avengers: Endgame world and it’s going to be very tough for any other movie franchise to compete with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kevin Feige is going to be overseeing all of Marvel

That said, Marvel Studios is in a rather tough place now because they’ve got to try and keep people interested in seeing these movies.

They’ve also got to plan for the future, and I’m sure they’ve been doing that for a few years already.

Anyway, it looks like Marvel is going to relying even more heavily on Kevin Feige moving forward, and I’m not just talking about the movies.

Feige’s been promoted to Chief Content Officer which means that he’s now in charge of all of Marvel, including its TV shows, comic book properties, and films.

This doesn’t mean that too much will change. I highly doubt that Feige will start micromanaging every aspect of Marvel. He just doesn’t have the time for that.

It just means that things will be slightly more streamlined, especially in their TV department which has been a tiny bit of a mess of late.

What can we expect for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The Marvel Netflix TV shows are now dead (RIP), which means that the new shows they’re making can tie directly into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is a good thing in my book.

This promotion also means that Feige will be at the very top of the food chain at Marvel, right next to the infamous Ike Perlmutter.

Now, I’m hoping that this means that Disney is angling to have Feige take over Perlmutter’s job, which wouldn’t be a bad thing in my book.

I do not like what I hear about Perlmutter. He sounds like a bit of an odd man, and Feige would be more suited to being the President of Marvel as a whole as opposed to just Marvel Studios.

What do you think Feige’s promotion means for the future of Marvel?
